April was a big month for the MTN BOX® with the announcement of the brand new MTN BOX: Spektrum Series SM road case. (Read more about the new MTN BOX design here) Our April packs of the week show the versatility of both the MTN BOX Spektrum Series LG and SM. Take a look:

Our custom shaped CM Lodestar cradles are specially made to protect these hoists during transport. With this pack, the MTN BOX: Spektrum Series LG can accommodate 4 CM Classic Small Frame Lodestars with room beneath each motor for chain and chain bags. This helpful pack can keep your motors organized and also reduce the amount of cases you need to load.

[EVENT RECAP] The NFL Draft: Selection Square

Mountain Productions is proud to have provided the main stage and multiple ancillary structures for the NFL Draft Selection Square in Chicago, IL. The NFL Draft is one of the biggest events in sports of the year (last year it was watched by a record 45.7 million viewers!) It just makes sense that Mountain Productions was asked to engineer and build one of the largest stage structures that we’ve ever built for this major NFL event.

[FEATURED PRODUCT] Leica’s L4P1 LINO

Our featured product is from Leica Geosystem’s family of precision laser levels: the L4P1 LINO. This is their newest LINO in their laser level line, and is an all-in-one 180° multi-line laser layout tool that combines the power of line lasers and point lasers. The IP54 rated L4P1 will stand up to the toughest jobs, and is easily setup and operated.

The L4P1 LINO has a newly designed base that is optimized for quick setup. Fine tune knobs on the base adjust the line or cross point you need to perfect alignment and placement. Three 180° vertical laser lines are combined with an overhead plumb laser point, creating 5 total layout points.

Gear Inspection Tips – Part 2: Rigging Hardware

We’re back with more inspection tips and procedures, but this time we’re focusing on rigging hardware, including CM shackles, LiftAll’s slings (Steelflex and Tuflex) and wire rope, CM trolleys, and Chicago Hardware turnbuckles. CM Shackles

(Carbon Steel Shackles, Theatrical Shackles)

Shackles should be visually inspected before each use in line with ASME B30.26 regulations
Shackles must be properly used to avoid damage and wear. Remember, the WLL is reduced depending on the angle your hanging load is pulling. Always refer to a competent and skilled rigger if there is any doubt on proper installation.

The Hercules Grid System was engineered and designed in the early 80s, and quickly became the leading stage for countless high-end festivals and events, including the Jackson’s Victory Tour, Lollapalooza, Woodstock and more. For around 20 years, Mountain Productions provided the Hercules Grid System exclusively before the creation of our truss tower system and Mountain Truss.

[EVENT RECAP + VIDEOS] Colossus TV at Bristol Motor Speedway

Mountain Productions is proud to have been involved in the world’s largest center-hung jumbotron in the world at Bristol Motor Speedway for the Food City 500. This past weekend, the “Colossus TV” was hung at Bristol Motor Speedway with massive 30’ x 60’ video screens and a 60’ diameter circle LED ribbon board.

Mountain provided 40 CM 1-Ton Lodestar chain hoists for the project, as well as the Limpet height safety system for access to the screen level and emergency descent if needed. We have some breathtaking photos of this impressive project below, as well as timelapse videos of the build taken from Fox Sports and Bristol Motor Speedway. Take a look!
