Our crew kicked off the busy festival season earlier this month with a visit to New York City for this year’s Governors Ball Music Festival. Moving to the new location of Flushing Meadows Corona Park, this year’s festival featured a stacked lineup that included Ice Spice, Lizzo, Kendrick Lamar and Lil Nas X. It was great to have the opportunity to once again play a vital role in this epic multi-day music festival where our state-of-the-art equipment, experienced crew, and meticulous attention to detail set the stage for some truly unforgettable performances.
The Art of Logistics:
Behind every successful music festival lies a complex logistical operation, and at Governors Ball this was no exception. Our crew was responsible for managing the intricate web of transportation, equipment coordination, and stage set-up and worked tirelessly to ensure that every component was seamlessly integrated, allowing the festival to run smoothly and efficiently. From organizing the arrival of equipment to overseeing load-in and load-out, we handled the logistical challenges with precision and expertise.
Gov Ball NYC Stage
Our MTN HD+ staging system was used as the main stage at this year’s Governors Ball. With a massive 80’ wide performance area, the HD+ is one of our premier staging systems in use today. With a total rigging capacity of 489,300 lbs, the HD+ also features a wing capacity of 219,300 lbs which, for Governors Ball, provided an exceptional viewing experience for the thousands of festival goers in attendance.
GoPuff Stage
In addition to supplying this year’s main stage, we also provided our SP-1 main stage which featured performances from the likes of Lil Uzi Vert, Metro Boomin and Lil Nas X. Designed and engineered for quick builds thanks to self-erecting towers and automated weather walls, the SP-1 was the perfect staging option in addition the HD+. With 56’ wide performance area, the incredible acts taking to the GoPuff stage at Governors Ball were able to put an epic show for festival goers.
