As two teams and one nation of NFL fans prepare for Super Bowl LII this Sunday in Minneapolis, MN, Mountain Productions is reflecting on the record-breaking temporary outdoor amphitheater they built to kick off the season at this year’s NFL Draft. In our new build recap video, the enormity of our work is shown in comparison to the 250,000 fans who attended this season’s outdoor NFL Draft in Philadelphia, PA.
Resting on the iconic steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Mountain Productions designed, fabricated and consulted on the construction of this engineering feat. The NFL Draft stage, built in the heart of Eagles Nation, became the largest semi-permanent amphitheater ever built. The structure, which allowed for one million pounds of rigging capacity, stood seventy feet tall, spanned a downstage width of 250 feet, and was supported by twenty post towers.
“We knew this year was special starting off the season in Philadelphia with this landmark project – it’s only fitting to see our Eagles head to their third Super Bowl,” said Ricky Rose, CEO of Mountain Productions. “We were proud to set the foundation for this year’s season on our home turf.”

Bringing along a member of the Leica Lino line of laser leveling devices is like bringing along another member of the team—one willing to lend a hand with some of the most frustrating tasks. We’ve decided to highlight a mere three of the endless ways in which a Leica Lino device can make your next project a breeze.
1. Accurate & Adaptable Alignment
When you’re on a construction or rigging site, an uneven platform or support structure could have devastating consequences to your accuracy, especially when your project is outdoors.
Planning a full rigging installation is not your everyday project. Period. Whether in an arena, theater, house of worship, or any other venue, there are always challenges to overcome and hours of due diligence to make sure that you’re getting the most out of your budget.
An installation is comprised of many parts, and also requires the skilled technicians to maintain it and the proper safety equipment integrated into the system. The foundation of any install lies in quality equipment, which is why we rely on CM and Motion Laboratories’ products.
