As two teams and one nation of NFL fans prepare for Super Bowl LII this Sunday in Minneapolis, MN, Mountain Productions is reflecting on the record-breaking temporary outdoor amphitheater they built to kick off the season at this year’s NFL Draft. In our new build recap video, the enormity of our work is shown in comparison to the 250,000 fans who attended this season’s outdoor NFL Draft in Philadelphia, PA.
Resting on the iconic steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Mountain Productions designed, fabricated and consulted on the construction of this engineering feat. The NFL Draft stage, built in the heart of Eagles Nation, became the largest semi-permanent amphitheater ever built. The structure, which allowed for one million pounds of rigging capacity, stood seventy feet tall, spanned a downstage width of 250 feet, and was supported by twenty post towers.
“We knew this year was special starting off the season in Philadelphia with this landmark project – it’s only fitting to see our Eagles head to their third Super Bowl,” said Ricky Rose, CEO of Mountain Productions. “We were proud to set the foundation for this year’s season on our home turf.”
