2018 Firefly Festival: Mountain Productions Delivers Stages, Equipment and Expertise to 90,000 Fans

In the Woodlands of Delaware’s capital city, 90,000 energized festival fans came together for the 2018 Firefly Music Festival.

Delaware’s biggest event brought the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Arctic Monkeys and The Killers to headline for the seventh edition of the Firefly Music Festival. Mountain Productions brought the stages, equipment and event production expertise.

Campers began pouring into The Woodlands of Dover International Speedway on Wednesday. The Mountain Productions staging and rigging crews were on scene long before building the platforms fit for the legendary performers of the week.

The Firefly Music Festival Main Stage

Mountain Productions built a staging system that has proven, time and time again, to deliver the biggest acts to the best fans and festivals. Our MTN HD+ Truss Staging System was front and center, standing as the Firefly Stage.

45-feet stage wings on each side brought the total stage size to a staggering 170 feet wide. Our front-of-house with retractable roof and various camera platforms kept the main stage looking and operating as well as the artists performing.

If you were looking for top-billed artists, the Firefly Main Stage was the place to be all weekend long. Fans saw Jimmy Eat World, Foster the People and Arctic Monkeys on Friday. The Killers spilled into Eminem on Saturday. Sunday delivered MGMT and Kendrick Lamar to send fans home satisfied and recharged with the energy they brought with them earlier in the week.

Mountain also built dozens of other structures throughout the 2018 Firefly Music Festival. Our teams built an all-new, custom stage structure for The Coffee House, as well as Front of House structures, delay towers, camera platforms and other event support equipment for the Pavilion Stage, The Backyard Stage and The Lawn Stage.

Event Recap: 2018 CMA Music Festival Full of Country Stars and Surprises

Mountain Productions was back in Music City for the third year in a row to build up the ultimate country festival featuring Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban and Luke Bryan at the 2018 CMA Music Festival.

Our Crew set the scene in Nissan Stadium ahead of 100,000 country music fanatics, hundreds of the biggest artists and 4 days of nonstop country.

The lucky ones that were a part of the sold-out crowd at Nissan were treated to a good-ole southern hospitality.  With a variety of boot-wearing, country-singing stars spanning decades and enough surprise performances to last well into the early morning, boot-kickin’ country fans couldn’t get enough of the sets.

Brothers Osborne took to the MTN HD+ stage once again on Thursday night with a set that got the party going. Friday night, fans heard from Dan + Shay who complimented their record hits with a Justin Timberlake-inspired cover. The Nissan Stadium stage even brought Lee Ann Womack in front of the crowd on Saturday.

Carrie Underwood was the breakout artist at this year’s festival, though, delivering unmatchable country vocals and her arsenal of number one’s from the past decade.

Our signature MTN Truss HD+ stage system stood tall once again as the CMA Festival Main Stage inside Nissan Stadium. The structure provided 80 feet for the biggest names in country to get to know the sold-out crowd.

The performance area was accompanied by two 40 feet wide audio bays and stood 80 feet tall, ensuring every seat was a prime spot to catch your favorite country artist. A number of other ancillary structures were also put in place, including camera tracks that will bring the get-down to national television later this summer.

The Mountain Productions crew was happy to be called back to Music City for another year of the Country Music Associations’ CMA Music Festival. For now, we’ll continue humming the tunes as we move on to the next big production of the year.
