Mountain Productions’ recently completed its annual, company-wide safety training. The three-day training covered several important safety topics, and a wide variety of speakers representing a multitude of organizations visited Mountain as seminar teachers.
The first day of safety school welcomed the PA Dept. of Labor, Wilkes-Barre’s Fire Dept. Captain, and Hilti Power Tools. Mountain Productions’ staff jumped right in, reviewing many workplace and personal safety topics, forklift operator safety. Employees engaged in hands-on tutorials on fire extinguisher use and safety guided by Wilkes-Barre’s Fire Dept.
Day two began with the PA State Police hosting an open discussion setting with Mountain employees, followed by a class in distracted driver safety. Brady, Sqwincher, Louisville Ladders and Friedman Electric participated and reviewed an assortment of safety topics, including lock-out-tag-out procedure, heat exhaustion prevention, personal protective equipment usage and care, and thorough ladder inspection.
Mountain’s final day of training consisted of classes designed specifically for Mountain’s road personnel. Safety speakers included representatives from Lift All, DBI-SALA and CRC Chemicals. Students were educated and refreshed in the recent changes to SDS sheets and more. DBI-SALA even provided a live demonstration on the importance of fall protection.
Mountain Productions is proud to continue its tradition of annual safety training. The importance of this training is paramount. Each and every company in the entertainment industry should be dedicating time towards a mandatory company-wide training, as it is the only way to ensure a holistic “safety-first” mindset among staff and crew members, both on the road and at home.
