[EVENT RECAP] Beyond Wonderland

A few weeks ago we shared some photos from Insomniac’s Nocturnal Wonderland festival. While we were in California setting up staging for Nocturnal, our crew was also preparing for its next venture 400 miles north in Mountain View, CA. Following Nocturnal Wonderland, our equipment moved quickly to Mountain View for Nocturnal’s sister festival, Beyond Wonderland, which took place on the following weekend. Insomniac’s website describes the festival as “an immersive world where attendees will be surrounded by vibrant performers, decorations, art installations, and more.”

Beyond Wonderland’s main stage was adorned with psychedelic scenic (a popular motif in recent Insomniac events). Like Nocturnal Wonderland and EDC Las Vegas, the structure was based on a scaffold back wall (roughly 60′ tall) and two 40′ audio towers. Along with the main stage, Mountain Productions provided Stage 3 and the Motorola Tower for the event.

Prior to traveling with the equipment to California, our engineers and welding shop worked together to design and custom manufacture the scaffold pieces for the Motorola Tower. Below is an image of the early research and development testing done at our yard. The final tower ended up as a 45′ tall straight vertical scaffold structure, removing the angled scaffolding seen in the early R&D image.
