Nashville is a high energy city that is legendary for its roots in music. The iconic Grand Ole Opry House, Country Music Hall of Fame, and Ryman Auditorium are just a few of the city’s landmarks, and the entire area is alive with live music and performances. Nashville is historically known for country music, and is home to the CMT Awards and CMA Festival. Mountain Productions proudly provided staging for the 2016 CMA Festival, including our MTN Truss HD+ System that stood as the main stage in Nissan Stadium for performances by Miranda Lambert, Rascal Flatts, Jason Aldean, and more. The entire CMA Festival was spread out throughout Nashville, with shows taking place at Nissan Stadium, the Ascend Amphitheater, riverside, and on Broadway street.
We’ve just added two more product bundles to our Rigging Shop – the Down Rigger package and the Stagehand bundle. Take a look at what’s inside:
The essential items for professional down riggers
This product bundle caters directly to down riggers, and the specific equipment they need to get the job done and support their up riggers. Along with personal protective equipment, this package features the Leica LINO P3 three-point laser that is perfect for shooting accurate points up to the grid. (Leica’s tools are accurate to within 1/16th of an inch!) We threw in the Leica GLB30 Red Laser Glasses to improve laser visibility when shooting your points.
Servicing and maintaining chain hoists is critical—no questions asked. But how do you know that those who are working on your motors have the experience to diagnose and repair any issue successfully? Always research the company you are sending your motors to—after all, these are your valuable investments that must be operated safely (faulty operation or technical problems can and have caused serious accidents). One of the companies that excel in proper hoist maintenance and servicing is HARP (Hoist and Rigging Professionals) Rigging.
Mountain Productions is proud to have provided the main stage, SAM-555 side stage, and additional structures for the 2016 Governors Ball festival. Originally launched in 2011, Governors Ball has grown to become one of the premiere music festivals in NYC. Gov. Ball takes place on Randall’s Island Park and is not only a music festival, but also features some of NYC’s best food trucks and hosts a variety of activities and games. This year’s festival lineup includes Kanye West, The Strokes, Beck, The Killers and more.
The venue location for the Mountain Jam festival is simply breathtaking. The Hunter Mountain resort provides a beautiful backdrop and 360 view, and overlooks Dolans Lake. Venues like this are perfect for music festivals, and the incredible views become part of the entire festival experience. Mountain Jam is now in its 11th year, and continues to feature big name talent, this year including Beck, Wilco, Gov’t Mule, The Avett Brothers and many more. Mountain Productions provided staging and additional equipment for the weekend festival for the third year in a row.
Our motto is “No job is too big or too small”—here’s a mobile stage that caters towards the smaller scale events and festivals: the SL-100. Our staging spotlight this week is all about making the most out of the limited space you have available. Mobile stages are perfect for time-sensitive events with limited labor, and the SL-100 is the ideal mobile unit when space is added to the equation.
The SL-100 is our smallest mobile stage, with a footprint of 24’ x 20’. Events taking place on the SL-100 don’t typically require a lot of production gear, so the rigging capacity of 6,500 lbs is capable of handling these events with ease.
Here’s some quick guides for your art department. These printouts are great references of the recommended softgood banner sizes for each of our mobile stages. Use this when you’re setting up your design files to make sure your banners fit appropriately. Keeping your files accurate and to the right measurements and scale helps speed up the printing process immensely. (Click here to read additional tips for custom softgood printing.)
