[EVENT UPDATE] 90th Annual National Christmas Tree Lighting at Washington DC

As Thanksgiving festivities begin to wrap up, Christmas season quickly rolls in. One of the most celebrated Christmas traditions is the Annual National Christmas Tree Lighting at Washington DC. The ceremony is a unifying event that both local and national communities share to celebrate the holiday season. The event has a rich history dating back to 1923 and President Calvin Coolidge. Since then, the event has changed locations several times and has evolved into a larger production.

National Christmas Tree Lighting 2010

This year, Mountain Productions is proud to be a part of the historic and iconic National Tree Lighting, providing staging and support structures for the venue. Mountain will be building 3 stages, 2 truss sound towers, scaffolding video towers and a mix position. The main stage will be constructed with the exclusive Supermega Truss Grid. Mountain will also be providing groundcover turf protection to preserve the park grass from any damage during load in and load out. Mountain Production’s staff are currently setting up the staging in preparation for the December 6th airing of the tree lighting. Check out some of our construction pictures below and read on for more details on the televised event:
