Live 8 Philadelphia, held on the steps of Philadelphia's Museum of Art on July 2nd, 2005, was a successor of Live Aid, an event designed to promote awareness of the world's impoverished. Featuring over 20 musical acts and attended by an estimated 800,000 this event called for a special type of stage, the Mountain scaffold system, that could be built on the steep incline of the steps leading to the Museum of Art.
