CM HOIST SCHOOL SYLLABUS

HOIST USE AND MAINTENANCE
Duration: 1.5 days
Instructor: Don Dimitroff, Columbus McKinnon

Program Description: Proper chain hoist service, maintenance, troubleshooting, storage, application and accessories.

This portion of the program includes a complete breakdown of a Columbus McKinnon Lodestar chain hoist. All instruction, tools, hoist, and manual for tasks are provided.

RIGGING PRINCIPLES
Duration: 1.5 days
Instructor: Bill Sapsis, Sapsis Rigging

Program Description: Basic rigging principles, application, equipment, maintenance and storage.

This portion of the program includes hands on rigging application, proper equipment application, fall protection procedures, and basic calculations.

TRUSS MANAGEMENT
Duration: 0.25 days
Instructor: Mike Garl, James Thomas Engineering

Program Description: Application, inspection, equipment design, theory.

This portion of the program includes design of aluminum trussing used in the entertainment industry, application, safety, transportion and inspection.

LIFTING/SUSPENSION
Duration: 0.25 days
Instructor: Chris Shaffer, LiftAll

Program Description: Application, inspection, design.

This portion of the program includes design, inspection, safety, application of lifting products used in the entertainment industry to include, but not limited to slings, shackles, wire rope, and hardware.
